Charlene’s Angels is grateful for the opportunity to call Southland Community Church its home. They strongly believe in showing God’s love to all people and we are thankful for the chance to use a wing of the Church to teach our clients.
To commemorate Down Syndrome Awareness our Angels visit Douglas McArthur Elementary School students where they get to interact with them. It is a day to come together to celebrate Down Syndrome and raise awareness.
Hi-Way Lanes reserve special lanes for our Angels to enjoy their weekly bowling sessions. Whether they score a strike, a spare, or just manage to knock down a few pins, our clients enjoy their time spent there with their friends. Wherever we go, we make new friends!
During their visit to Central Nine Center in December, Charlene’s Angels clients gained knowledge on first aid and dental hygiene. Our clients received hands-on instruction about dental hygiene and first aid. Later, our clients were treated to a pizza and dancing party after a great learning day!
In August, our clients had the pleasure of meeting the Roncalli Baseball team and staff. We’re excited to collaborate and learn from each other. Our clients will gain insights into baseball, while the team will learn about working with adults with special needs. The baseball players will also earn service hours towards their graduation.
Our first meeting was a friendly meet and greet, where the Roncalli team assisted our clients in signing up online and creating profiles. This is just the beginning! We have more opportunities to connect, including a fall baseball game and festive Halloween and Christmas parties. What a fun and educational partnership this is shaping up to be!
